Drug abuse and distribution are currently increasingly widespread, not only in the city but also to remote villages, which is reinforced by the results of a survey on the prevalence of drug abuse which states that the prevalence rate in villages has increased every year.
In Langsa City, the BNN and the Regional Government have made 14 out of 66 Villages into Drug-Free Villages. “Where the actions carried out in it start from the creation of Qanun Gampong, socialization of the dangers of drugs, early detection through urine tests, formation of activists and volunteers, as well as the formation and provision of recovery agents in supporting rehabilitation programs,” said Jeffry Sentana S Putra.
The drug problem in Langsa City is currently our shared moral responsibility. It requires serious attention from all components of society.
Head of the BNN for Langsa City, Dr. Muhammad Dahlan, SH, MH, said that the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is a non-ministerial government institution in Indonesia, which is tasked with preventing, eradicating the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics (P4GN), psychotropics, precursors and other addictive substances, and has an organizational structure at the national, provincial and district/city levels.
The legal basis is Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, Presidential Instruction of the Republic of Indonesia No. 6 of 2018 concerning the national action plan for P4GN and the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
“The circulation of drugs in Indonesia has entered a very worrying stage and in response to this threat, the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) initiated the formation of the Desa Bersinar Program (Drug-Free Village) as a strategic and preventive step,” explained Muhammad Dahlan.
Through the Desa Bersinar Program, BNN RI hopes that village communities will not only be objects of protection, but also become the main actors in drug prevention efforts. Collaboration and concern from all elements of society are the main keys to realizing a healthy, safe, and productive village without drugs.

Member of the DPD RI Dr. H. M. Nasir Djamil, M.Si, on that occasion also expressed his support for the Implementation of the Shining Village Program to ensure effectiveness in breaking the chain of illicit drug trafficking towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
“Let’s collaborate, so that we can suppress drug trafficking to the village level, we realize that this war has been going on for a long time and not only at the national level but also internationally to destroy drug syndicates or cartels,” he explained.
As happened recently, as much as 2 tons of crystal methamphetamine and this could destroy many people. Therefore, until today, efforts to prevent illicit drug trafficking have been made by many countries.
Likewise, in Indonesia, various efforts have also been made, but today Indonesia is evaluating its war strategy against drug syndicates.
“Therefore, the DPR together with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia are formulating further efforts, namely rehabilitation efforts, criminalization, and legality in order to anticipate and prevent supply and demand. This is important to change our mindset from criminalizing victims of drug abuse,” explained Nasir Djamil.
This activity was also attended by the Langsa City Forkopimda, OPD Leaders, Shining Village, PWI Chair, KNPI DPD, Anti-Narcotics Movement DPC (GRANAT), Anti-Narcotics Family Association (IKAN), Media Personnel, Langsa BNNK Ranks and other invited guests.(**)
