FOMAPAK Chairman Strongly Condemns the Alleged Murder of Civilians by Indonesian Navy Members

Langsa.ANN | The actions of these individuals are very cruel, their property was taken, people were killed by force, even their bodies were deliberately thrown into the forest to cover their tracks by the perpetrators.
Incidents like this remind us of when Aceh was still in conflict, people were killed and their bodies were thrown away without legal process for the perpetrators.
The behavior of these individuals cannot be tolerated because law enforcement officers are tasked with protecting and serving the community, this is what the navy’s army (TNI AL) did the opposite.
If we look at the actions of the perpetrators, taking the life of a health worker who also worked as a car agent by putting his body in a sack, this is very cruel, especially since this incident was carried out in the holy month of Ramadan.
Chairman II of FOMAPAK in the Legal and Human Rights Division, Nasruddin S.E, asked the TNI Commander to impose an appropriate punishment on the perpetrators, where Article 340 of the Criminal Procedure Code regulates premeditated murder, the perpetrators are threatened with the death penalty to provide a sense of justice for the victim’s family.
In addition, Nasruddin also asked to the representatives of society council DPR-RI, DPRA, National Commission of Human Right (Komnas HAM), and related institutions to provide legal assistance to the victim’s family in the future, because we are worried that there will be pressure from certain parties to reduce the sentence for the perpetrator because the community as a civil element certainly hopes to get special supervision of this case together until it is resolved. ” Said Nasruddin.
Even more important in the future, what will be the fate of the deceased’s three young children, who will pay for their living expenses including education in the future, this needs to be considered so that the family left behind does not suffer forever. ” He concluded again.
The victim named Hasriani was allegedly killed by TNI AL personnel and dumped her body in the mountainous forest (Gunung Salak) North Aceh. The victim left behind a wife and three young children. (**)
